About Horn For Hire

Horn For Hire is Wim Koopman, a Dutch saxophone player with almost forty years of live playing experience.
He played professionaly in a cover band for ten years, playing styles ranging from Jazz to Rock.
He also sings and plays keyboards, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, low whistle, guitar, bass and drums.

He still plays live regularly with a few cover and jazz bands:

  • Balance – Cover band
  • Pale Blue Dot – Jazz/Fusion band playing original compositions
  • Eminent Hipsters – Steely Dan tribute band
  • Carte Blanche – Jazz quintet
  • Stockholm Tivoli – Cover band

In 2004 he built his first home studio and started recording his own compositions. He uses Cubase software.
Besides Pop/Rock songs, with many influences like Jazz, Funk and Soul, he also makes Jazz/instrumental music.

He’s done many online sessions, recording saxophone for a variety of artists in a variety of styles, which makes him a regular ‘Horn For Hire’…
